Evangelistic Newspaper Articles by Gregg Harris
One of the “noble deeds” our brotherhood undertakes is to write, sponsor, and publish a full-page evangelistic article in the Our Town newspaper in the first edition of each month. This purchase of the advertising space (at a rate of $1830 per article) is covered by the generosity of the Noble Men. (An example of our work is provided below).

Over 27 articles have been written and published in our local newspapers, including both Our Town in Silverton, Oregon, and the Statesman Journal in Salem, Oregon.

The whole point of this project is to present the good news concerning Jesus Christ to those who have yet to hear it, but would not be likely to come looking for it in a church gathering. By publishing our articles in local newspapers, we place the gospel in front of our neighbors right at those moments when they are most open to news.
But please understand that these articles have also been written in order to raise the level of biblical literacy in our community. Many people today have little or no idea what the Bible is about. I hope that by explaining the basic beliefs of Christianity, it will make it easier for everyone in our community to discuss these important issues as friends and neighbors, and perhaps understand the terms and ideas being presented a bit more accurately.

It costs us $1830 to publish each article each month. The souls of our neighbors are well worth it, and we intend to press on alone if need be. But if you, and/or the members of your church, would like to chip in and help support this effort, please make your donation of any amount through the options listed below.

Water Street, Silverton, OR 97381. It will be deposited into the account of Gracious Cross Reformed Church for tax deduction purposes.
